The accident which occured around 06:40am on Saturday, according to reports had three different vehicles involved, which are; Kia Rio with Reg no: RBC 108 AE, Volkswagen Golf with Reg no: GWA 114 BC and Mercedes Benz with Reg No: BDG 757 GF in collision.
While the rescue team were; the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Police and Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
According to an eye witness, the multiple fatal accident was caused as a result of split granite content that was on the road from an unknown granite loaded truck, which led to multiple hits by other vehicles.
While the presumed dead bodies were taken to an Idera Private morgue Sagamu, while the injured victim was rescued by his relative to Idera Hospital, Sagamu.
The accidented vehicles has been towed by Sagamu Police officers, Effort is on for Julius Berger Nigeria (JBN) to evacuate the remaining granite on the road.
The traffic was initially affected but later cleared by TRACE and other security agencies.
Also, according to another an eyewitness account, the granite loaded truck which did not latch the granite well while on transit, could have caused the accident with the 3 vehicles involved running on the granite littered everywhere on the road, and hitting each other from the back in the process.
Meanwhile, the TRACE Corps commiserate with the family of the deceased, articulated vehicle drivers are again urged to always latch and cover the items they're carrying while on transit in view of its attendant consequences.
According to the reports, the road is free now and normalcy has been restored.
