The work has begun in earnest in Odeda Local Government as Hon. Folasade Adeyemo, the Chairman of the Council today Monday, August 9th, 2021, commences on-site assessment and immediate evacuation of illicit dumpsites in the Odeda area.
She kick-started the "Keep Your Environment Clean Campaign" (KYECC) at Obantoko where she instructed that the site should be immediately rid of the refuse dumped by unknown people in the area.
The Chairman then appealed to the inhabitants of the area to desist from the proliferation and degradation of their environment by dumping harmful materials close to their homes.
She also appealed to the people concerned to make use of OGWAMA (Ogun Waste Management Authority Agents) close to them as a means of disposing of their wastes.
Local government Health and Environmental Safety Officers were also present to collaborate with the Chairman in her bid to keep Odeda Clean and safe for the inhabitants.
Folasade promised to work with appropriate agencies in educating and reorientating all the stakeholders most especially the CDAs and CDCs leaderships about the hazards of indiscriminate dumping of refuse around our homes and community.
She also warned that violators of environmental sanity shall be prosecuted if they persist in their nefarious activities.
