Twelve new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Ogun State on August 1, 2021 with a call on residents to adhere strictly to non-pharmacological measures.
In a statement by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker, nine of the new cases were discovered in Abeokuta while Abeokuta South recorded two and one case was found in Abeokuta North.
The statement indicated that two of the 12 new cases are currently on admission at the isolation center while others are on home management.
It revealed that Ogun State has so far had a total of 4,793 Covid-19 cases with 4,668 discharged and 57 deaths.
Dr. Coker in the statement said that the reality of the Third Wave of the pandemic has dawned on the entire globe, including Nigeria at large, pointing out that the need to take necessary precautions should not be taken for granted.
