Ogun Holds Monthly Sanitation Exercise, Says No Restriction of Movement

The Ogun State Ministry of Environment has made known that the monthly Environmental Sanitation exercise for this month will hold this Saturday, with no restriction of movement in all the 20 local government areas of the State.

 

In a statement signed by Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engr. Razak Ojetola, stated that the sanitation exercise will hold from 7am till 10am, on Saturday, 30th of April, 2022. 

The statement with the heading, "Ogun Hold Monthly Sanitation Exercise, Harps on Cleanliness", 

read in parts; "The monthly Ogun State Environmental Sanitation Exercise for this month will hold this Saturday, 30th April, 2022 from 7am to 10am with no restriction of movement in all the twenty (20) local government areas of the state.

"Residents are therefore enjoined to use the period of the exercise to clean their homes, surroundings, and drainage channels for onward collection by the Private Sector Participants (PSP) assigned to their areas while other Waste Collection Vehicles and equipments from the Ogun State Waste Management Authority (OGWAMA) will also be on duty to complement the efforts of the PSP, as residents are advised not to dump their waste by the roadsides and medians during and after the exercise. 

"All local government officials and advocacy groups on environmental sanitation are also to take charge in their locality in other to ensure success of the exercise, while officials from the State Ministry of Environment and its Agencies will also be on duty".
