SENSITIZATION
The local government chairman was briefed on the case this morning by Dr Ayanlaja ,the LGHA HS and all other Rapid Response team were notified
The LGA rapid response team visited the families to ensure that proper precautions were in place before, during and after the burial of the corpse.
Stakeholders in the ward were informed and they assisted in persuading the family members to adhere to safety precautions
Mobilizers were also deployed into the community to sensitize the community members on the situation at hand
THE CASE BURIAL
The corpse was buried at the community burial ground at Ilaporu, Ijebu North this morning after all necessary precautions were taken to curtail the spread of the disease within the community.
Decontamination
The deceased house, church and the general hospital were also decontaminated, by the Environmental officers while some clothes and mattress used by her where burnt to ashes to prevent the spread of the disease.
CONTACT TRACING
Twenty nine contacts were line listed and were advised to avoid contact with the community members.
No risk contact : 6 [some community members]
Low risk contact: 17 [ health workers]
High risk contact: 6 [family members
Some of the health workers temperature were taken and documented today. Non has high body temperature.
MEETING
The LGA Rapid Response Team held their meeting at the General Hospital, Ijebu Igbo after the day’s activities. The HS welcomed everyone to the meeting and appreciated their rapid response to the emergency situation in the LGA.
Dr Olanihun gave a brief presentation on the case and the medical care administered to the patient. He also stated that the IPC focal person should ensure timely desermination of information concerning outbreak to other health care workers.
