NYCN Ogun West break the jinx of being in darkness for many years




The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ogun West Senatorial District, joins others in receiving electrical materials from the Dangote Cement Plant, Ibese.

In a significant step towards revitalizing electricity infrastructure in Yewa North, the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ogun West Senatorial District, joined stakeholders today to receive essential electrical materials meant for the rebuilding and reconstruction of power supply in 21 communities. This event marks a pivotal moment in addressing the community's long-standing electricity challenges, promoting both development and improved quality of life.

The National Youth Council extended its gratitude to the Honourable Member representing the Isokan state constituency, Hon. Adeyanju Adegoke Awoso, for his vital contributions to the initiative's success. They also acknowledged the Ogun State House of Assembly, under the leadership of RT Hon. Elemide, for the significant role they played in responding swiftly to the community's urgent needs. This partnership exemplifies how effective governance and collaboration within the community can lead to meaningful change.

The State Vice Chairman of the Youth Council , Com. Kehinde Damilola Olorunjubelo emphasized that this initiative is not just about restoring power; it's about rebuilding trust and hope for the future. “Today, we are not just receiving materials; we are lighting the way forward for our communities,” said a council representative. Their words resonated with many present, who are eager to see the positive changes unfold in their neighborhoods.
In attendance are respected monarchs and traditional leaders which includes Olu of Imasayi, Aboro of Ibese, Aboro of Iboro, Alademeso of Igan-Alade, Onijoun of Ijoun, Onijale of Ijale-Ketu, Onimoto of Imoto, Olowode of Owode-Ketu, Baale of Abule-Oke, Baale of Ajibawo. Also present were representatives of key stakeholders and leaders in the region, including: CEO, Always Petroleum, Hon. Adegoke Awoso, Member, Ogun State House of Assembly (Yewa North 1), Vice Chairman of Yewa North Local Government Area (representing the Chairman), Councillors of Yewa North LGA, Youth leaders from Imasayi, Igbogila, Imoto, Ijale-Ketu, and Igan-Alade ,Representatives of Dangote Cement Plc, including the Plant Director, General Manager, and Head of Social Performance Evaluation.
As the 21 communities of Yewa North prepare for this significant upgrade in their electricity supply, there is an overwhelming sense of optimism. Residents are keen to witness the introduction of reliable power, which is expected to spur economic activities and improve overall living conditions. With the support of Dangote PLC and unified efforts from all stakeholders, the future looks bright for the people of Yewa North.
