"For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many." Mark 10:45.

*Message*
*Who Is A Servant?*

*Today, Let Us Consider Who A Servant Really Is:*

*A. He Is One Under A Higher Authority Or Master And He Is Subject To The Master:* The centurion illustrated this when he said "For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it." (Luke 7:8)

*B. One Who Puts Humility And Attitude Of A Servant:* Paul describe Christ in this manner: He "made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men" (Philippians 2:7).

*C. One Who Is Ready And Willing To Serve:* Again, Jesus spoke of Himself in this manner: "Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many." (Matthew 20:28)

*D. One Who Can Make The Sacrifice Or Pay The Price Of Service:* In John 13:1, we read of the willingness of Jesus to pay the ultimate price of service. "Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knee that his hour was come that he should  depart out of this world unto the father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end."

*E. One Who Is Not Self-Seeking:* Jesus said "And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me" (Luke 22:29). In other words , he wanted the best for us just as His Father wanted the best for Him that is a servant. Are you?

*ACTION POINT*

*PRAYER POINTS*
1. Lord Jesus, give me the grace to obey Your instructions totally in the name of Jesus;

2. Heavenly father, heal me of pride and grant me the spirit of humility in the name of Jesus;

3. Lord Jesus, grant me the grace to pay the price for true service in Your kingdom in the name of Jesus;

4. Lord, help me not to focus on myself but on You and on my neighbours in the name of Jesus.
