Executive Chairman Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. 'Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo today Monday 25th of November has warned the dwellers in the Local Government of open defecation in the communities advised landlords/Caretakers to have toilet facilities that will preempt the hazard situation in the environment that the  occupants should have access to clean sanitary facilities.

He said this while having maiden meeting with members of staff of the LG warned residents to desist from defecating in bushes and open places.

Oyegbola-Sodipo  explained, “I wish to use this opportunity of this meeting to let you know that issues of open defecation in Abeokuta North Local Government will no longer be business as usual. The Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation Department in the LG will henceforth unfold all its regulatory framework to ensuring adequate enforcement of sanitation laws in  the Local Government Area.

He said further that Environmental Health Officers of the LG  will now be directed to clampdown on houses without toilets and individuals engaging in open defecation emphasized that open defecation will not be tolerated.
